A new school year has arrived! Enroll the students in a safe and creative environment at ESCAPE to the Arts, where they can continue their learnng in a fun and productive way. We provide pick up from the middle schools to our facility, parents must pick up at either 4:30 pm or 6:00 pm. This program is for middle school to high school aged students.

Tuition is $10 per day, financial assistance is available.

Art Makes a Difference - Instructor Veronica
Creating to help and heal, art does make a difference. You’ll learn about the social and environmental issues that affect so many, and through art, create pieces that will help the world, a little bit at a time.
Bookbinding - Instructor Chansoda
There’s no reading involved here, just a bit of measuring and dexterity, resulting in your own handmade journals that may be two dimensional, three dimensional, or even pop up. You’ll truly be able to personalize your own creations here.
Cartooning - Instructor Joe
This is a fun class if you like to doodle in your notebook, and want to take that a step further. You will learn how to develop characters and plotline to come up with your own comic book.
Computer Art - Instructor Joe
This class combines technology with art. You’ll learn to utilize the computer as an art tool by using drawing tablets and the latest graphics programs.
Ceramics - Instructor Sony
Clay is the main medium here to create three dimensional works of art. You’ll mold, sculpt, shape and have loads of fun, maybe even bring home a new coffee mug.
Drawing - Instructor Veronica
This class will allow you to develop an artistic eye, to see the details of real life and translate that on to paper. Drawing from models and still life, you’ll be disciplined in seeing shapes, shadow, and dimension, and how to express that in your drawing skill.
Graphic Design - Instructor Chansoda
This class explores the art of visual communication and publishing. You’ll learn how to use professional design programs to create pieces that speak to the world.
Jewelry Making - Instructor Chansoda
Would you like to wear stunning pieces of jewelry that you’ve actually designed? This class explores wire wrapping techniques, bead making, and turning ordinary found objects into wearable art.
Open swim - Boughton Street YMCA
At the Boughton Street YMCA. Don’t forget your towel.
Painting - Instructor Joe and Veronica
In this class, you will explore different mediums in painting, oil, watercolor, and acrylic, to create your next masterpiece under the guidance of our professional artists. You’ll learn how to mix and match color, apply paint, brush techniques, and how to visually interpret an image onto canvas.
Photography - Instructor Penny
Different angles, dramatic lighting, what makes a photograph a good photograph? You’ll learn what makes a truly interesting picture, and how to capture them using digital photography.
Roots & Shoots - Instructor Veronica
Interested in positive change? Whether for communities, animals, or for the environment, you can help make the world a better place, and you can connect with other youth from around the globe while doing it! Come join the fun!
Sewing - Instructor Chansoda
This is a great class if you love to be creative. From one piece or several pieces of fabric, you will be able to turn that in to something truly useful and unique, whether it be clothing, bags, wherever your imagination takes you.
Special Projects- Instructor Chansoda
A class with no limits on the possibilities of where creativity may take us. This class involves a bit of everything, and anything, to create a masterpiece. For the adventurous artist curious of exploring other realms of art.
Women Leaders Rising Club - Veronica
Would you like to learn how to be a leader in a fun way? Hang out with us girls! Through a variety of games, field trips, and an exciting, student-chosen project, you will develop the skills you need to lead and to be a team player.
Woodworking - Instructor Terry
For the builder who loves to work with their hands. You’ll have so much fun developing your own project plans and seeing the results come together right before your eyes.
Advance Cartooning (computers) - Instructor Joe
For those who would like to take their cartooning to a new level, using prior skills and knowledge to create works of art on the computer.
Advanced Painting/Illustration - Instructor Joe
This class is geared towards the serious painters who would like to develop their style and challenge themselves to look at their art in a new way.
Theater - Stacey

Do you see yourself on television? Or, on stage in New Your City? Join professional actress, Stacey Snyder, and be part of an amazing theater troupe. You never know who might be in the audience when you put on your performance at our year end show.

Zumba
Dance away to a fusion of hipo hop, latin, and african dance.
Power Hour - Barrie
Reading and writing isn’t boring here!! If you like fiction, sports, poetry, biographies, history, or current events, this class will get your creative juices flowing. AND, you could get your work published in ESCAPE’s annual literary magazine.
Multimedia Madness - Suzi
A little bit of this and that, mess may be involved, but with an outcome of a whole lot of fun. This is a crafty class for anyone who is open to other possibilities in art, where the usual pencil and paper just can’t go.
Chorus
Do you love to sing? Are you the next “American Idol”? Join us! You’ll be performing in our end of the year show, and out in the community.
Yoga and Pilates
Stretching, meditation, breathing and relaxing, promotes healthy mind, body and soul. A program designed especially for teens, with lots of fun built in.
We Are the Difference
A leadership program that teaches you how to deal with problems effectively through song, dance, and acting out skits. Run by Norwalk Dispute Settlement Center.

 

We also have an afterschool class for elementary aged students. No transportation from the schools for this age group.

Nothing to do Afterschool Art Club

This after school class was designed for elementary school students to have fun exploring a variety of art activities including painting, drawing, constructing and sculpting. In this fun-filled class, children will experience the creative process in a relaxed environment.  Bring a snack.
