Penny was born and raised in Danbury, CT, where she still calls home.  She became interested in photography when she got her first camera when she was in high school.  She attended Western State University of Connecticut where she majored in Communication Arts, furthering her creative abilities behind the lens. 

She began her career as a professional portrait photographer in 1983 when she worked for an agency that sent her traveling around the United States taking pictures of families, individuals, children, babies and pets.  This lasted until she opened her own business in 1990, Photography by Penny. Penny has spent the last 17 years photographing weddings, bar and bat mitzvahs, and other special events around Connecticut and New York. In addition, she enjoys photographing the environment, such as landscapes, flowers, animals and scenes from Nature.
