Sony's personal journey in the world of fine art began when she received a portfolio-based scholarship to The Rhode Island School of Design. From that moment on she realized that artistic expression would be a life-long pursuit.

Sony went on to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Skidmore College with a concentration in Painting. Later, she obtained an Associate's degree in Graphic Design from Gibbs College, adding yet another dimension to her repertoire of skills. Sony worked as a publishing and editorial associate for a children's book publishing house where she also served as a display artist and graphic designer. Currently she works as a freelance artist on contract based graphic design projects, and is preparing new work for upcoming art exhibitions. Sony has been with ESCAPE since 2008 teaching classes in Ceramics.
