Sony’s personal journey in the world of fine art began when she received a portfolio-based scholarship to The Rhode Island School of Design. From that moment on, she realized that artistic expression would be a life-long pursuit.
Sony went on to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Skidmore College with a concentration in Painting. Later, she obtained an Associate’s degree in Graphic Design from Gibbs College, adding yet another dimension to her repertoire of skills. Sony worked as a publishing and editorial associate for a children’s book publishing house where she also served as a display artist and graphic designer. Currently, she works as a freelance artist on contract based graphic design projects and is preparing new work for upcoming art exhibitions. Sony is a new member of ESCAPE and is thrilled to be a part of a community based art education program. “Expression through art has been my life’s passion. Art offers me a vehicle for personal growth and allows me to help others and find their own artistic voice and identity.”
